Eostre – Eostre was the Anglosaxon and Norse goddess of spring, rebirth, offspring, and reproduction. In April a holiday was celebrated in her name known as Eostremonath. Maypoles were erected in her honor to symbolize the phallic symbol of reproduction. This was the Pagan holiday that would later be changed by the Christian’s to Easter.
